The West Sacramento Force Main project was one of eight construction projects within the Lower Northwest Interceptor Program constructed for the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District. This project consisted of 32,000 linear feet of 60-inch diameter sewer pipe for the transmission of raw wastewater. This included many concrete access structures for air relief, blow off and general maintenance. The pipeline alignment runs north and south through the City of West Sacramento on the western side of the Sacramento River. The majority of the pipeline was installed using a traditional cut and cover method of construction. However, approximately 8,000 linear feet was installed by microtunneling.
