The project consisted of constructing a custom 2-story 14,000 square foot steel and wood framed building with an open connecting entry space. The building is the hub of City Operations, housing the City Manager & Administrative Staff, the Police, Building & Planning Departments, Public Works and Engineering. The structure meets rigorous seismic standards by utilizing a cutting edge post tensioned, rocking braced frame system and serves as the City’s Emergency Operations Center. The building achieved a Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System® certification. Accompanying the building and green construction practices are the associated site improvements including clearing, grading, storm drainage, telephone, cable and power connections, sanitary sewer, planting and irrigation, curb gutter and sidewalk along with retaining walls and asphalt paving.
