Construction Cost:
$1.3 million

The project consisted of constructing a new dechlorination facility for the Novato Sanitary District. A storage and spill containment facility was constructed to hold 6,500 gallons of sodium bisulfite and three chemical metering pumps were installed. Double contained pipelines were constructed to convey the sodium bisulfite 2800 linear feet to the injection point in the existing effluent outfall pipe. An injection mixer was installed to blend the bisulfite with the chlorinated effluent and an automated control and SCADA system was installed.
